In 2006, market trend reports have all indicated that the next hot spot for growth is Brunswick County, in North Carolina. With its pristine beaches and abundant wildlife, the North Carolina beaches offer a different type of vacation paradise than Myrtle Beach's lavish condo-hotels.
The quaint fishing village of Calabash is the most southern city on the NC Coast, and borders Little River, SC. Calabach has served up the best seafood in the area for decades and its family owned restaurants are some of the North Myrtle Beach vacationer's most popular dining choices.
The Brunswick County area is very attractive to both builders and home buyers. With restrictions against direct oceanfront building, and height requirements, it is particularly appealing to upscale single-family homebuilders. Some of the nation’s largest homebuilders are already very active in the area. Centex, D.R. Horton, and Bill Clark Homes have been buying and building for several years. Lennar Corporation and Portrait Homes are also entering this N.C. coastal market.
